Stoic Locker

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how narrador ("we", "us") handles information when you use Stoic Locker, our Android app for daily stoic phrases and optional app blocking. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account and sign-in

You can use Stoic Locker with a guest session or sign in with Google. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and display name from Google so we can identify your account and sync your progress. We do not receive your Google password. You may also sign in with a magic link sent to your email; we store the email address you provide for that purpose.

Sessions and security

When you sign in (including as a guest), we store your IP address and user agent (device and app version information) with each session, to keep your account secure and prevent abuse.

Phrase progress on our servers

When you listen to or complete daily phrases, we store records in our database (table user_phrase_views) linked to your account: which phrases you have seen, when you saw them, and when you marked a phrase as completed. This lets you keep your streak and history across devices after sign-in.

The app sends your device time zone with phrase requests so we can compute your daily phrase. We do not collect your location.

Information that stays on your device

The following is processed and stored only on your phone and is not uploaded to narrador servers:

  • The list of apps you choose to block (Android package names).
  • Permissions for Usage Access and Display over other apps, used solely to detect when a blocked app is opened and to show the Stoic Locker overlay so you can return to your daily phrase. We do not collect or transmit your app usage history, screen content, or which apps you open over time.
  • Your daily reminder settings (on/off and local time), used only to schedule a local notification on your device.
  • Session tokens and other credentials in secure on-device storage.

How we use information

  • Provide the app, sync phrase progress, and operate your account.
  • Enforce app blocking and reminders on your device using the local data above.
  • Process subscriptions (see Payments) through Google Play.
  • Keep accounts secure and respond to support requests, and comply with law.

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in Stoic Locker.

Payments

Optional paid features are sold through Google Play. Payment and subscription status are handled by Google. We never store your payment card details.

Sharing and third parties

We share information only as needed to run the app:

  • Google: when you choose Google sign-in (authentication per Google's policies).
  • Google Play: subscription and purchase management. Google processes payments and subscription status.
  • Hosting providers: we operate servers (for example, API and database hosting) that store account and phrase-progress data for narrador.io services.

We do not sell your personal information.

Retention

We keep account and phrase-progress data while your account is active. When you request deletion, your account is scheduled to be deleted after 30 days; you can recover it by signing in before then. After that we delete your server data, including user_phrase_views. Credits and purchase history are kept linked to an opaque user ID. Data that exists only on your device is removed when you uninstall the app or clear app storage.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself from Profile in the app or on our account deletion page. Deletion happens 30 days after the request, and you can recover your account by signing in before then.

Children

Stoic Locker is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@narrador.io and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we store, and all data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
