MCP & REST API
Text to speech MCP server and API for AI agents
Give AI agents a hosted text to speech API and MCP server. Connect at https://api.narrador.io/mcp with OAuth or an API key, or use the REST reference at https://api.narrador.io/docs.
- Documents through narrador files
create_files_job or POST /v1/files/generate. Auto voice by document language when you omit voiceId.
- X posts through narrador X
generate_x_audio returns audio, not video. Video export stays in the app.
- Same credits, MCP or REST
Connect with OAuth in Cursor, Claude Desktop, or VS Code, or use an nrd_files_ or nrd_x_ key.
Cursor, Claude Desktop, and VS Code
Remote MCP config — the same samples as the API docs. Clients that support remote MCP OAuth only need the URL, including Cursor, Claude Desktop, and VS Code. API keys remain the alternative: nrd_files_ for narrador files tools, nrd_x_ for narrador X.
Add to .cursor/mcp.json in the project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project.
OAuth
Recommended when the client supports remote MCP OAuth. URL only — then sign in. Scopes: narrador:files, narrador:x.

FAQ
- What is an MCP server?
- A remote tool host an AI client can call. narrador's text to speech MCP server is at https://api.narrador.io/mcp as io.narrador/narrador.
- How do I add it to Claude Desktop, Cursor or VS Code?
- If the client supports remote MCP OAuth, add https://api.narrador.io/mcp and sign in. Otherwise use Authorization Bearer with an nrd_files_ or nrd_x_ key. Samples are in https://api.narrador.io/docs.
- Does the API cost extra?
- No. The API uses the same credits as the app, at the same price.
